POLYCARBONATE ROOF SHEETS

LIGHTWEIGHT, DURABLE ROOFING FOR CANOPIES, EXTENSIONS AND GARDEN STRUCTURES

At Rogers Roofing, we supply and install polycarbonate roof sheets from trusted manufacturers such as Clear Amber’s Axiome range, providing reliable, weather-resistant and low-maintenance solutions for canopies, carports, garden rooms, and rooflight glazing.

Polycarbonate sheets offer a lightweight yet strong alternative to glass, combining excellent light transmission with long-term durability and minimal upkeep.

TYPES OF POLYCARBONATE SHEETS

Single-wall sheets are a single layer of polycarbonate that provides a clear, glass-like appearance while being significantly lighter and virtually unbreakable. They are often used for smaller canopies, porch roofs or rooflights.

Twin-wall sheets feature two layers separated by an air cavity, improving insulation and rigidity. They are ideal for domestic structures such as garden roofs or lean-tos where thermal performance and affordability are key.

Multi-wall sheets offer enhanced insulation and strength, using three or more internal layers for increased stability and reduced heat transfer. They are well suited for larger structures, conservatories, or extensions, offering both performance and light diffusion.

At Rogers Roofing, we help you choose the correct sheet type based on your structure, insulation needs, and visual preference — ensuring a result that performs as well as it looks.

COLOUR AND FINISH OPTIONS

Polycarbonate sheets are available in several tints and finishes to suit different property styles and lighting requirements. The Clear Amber Axiome range offers:

  • Clear – Maximum light transmission with full visibility.

  • Opal – Reduced glare and softer, diffused light.

  • Bronze – Subtle shading to minimise heat and glare from direct sunlight.

Each finish provides a different balance between brightness, privacy and solar control, helping tailor the appearance and comfort of the finished installation.

SELF-SUPPORTING GLAZING BARS

Self-supporting glazing bars are structural systems designed to carry the full weight of the polycarbonate sheets without needing timber rafters beneath. These are often used for modern installations such as carports, canopies and lean-tos, where a clean, open roofline is preferred.

Each bar typically features an aluminium base and PVCu or aluminium cap that securely holds the sheet in place. They can support a variety of sheet thicknesses, from 16 mm up to 35 mm, while maintaining rigidity over wider spans.

When fitted correctly, they create a sleek, low-maintenance structure with minimal framing, allowing light to flow through freely while keeping the space beneath fully protected from the weather.

TIMBER GLAZING BARS AND FRAMED STRUCTURES

Where a more traditional look is desired, or where rafters are already present, we install timber glazing bar systems. These are aluminium or PVCu bars fixed directly to the timber frame, sealed with gaskets and finished with snap-down caps for a secure and weatherproof result.

We also design and construct new timber frameworks for customers who prefer a classic, structural finish. Each frame is built to modern standards using graded timber, measured precisely for the span and load required by the roof.

Once the framework is in place, the glazing bars and sheets are fitted to the manufacturer’s specification, resulting in a robust, attractive roof that combines natural materials with modern performance.

INSTALLATION AND REPAIR

Every installation is carried out in line with manufacturer and industry standards to ensure correct support, sealing and expansion allowance. We also replace or repair existing polycarbonate roofs where sheets, bars or seals have aged or become damaged. Whether it’s a small repair or a full refit, we ensure the structure remains watertight, stable and visually consistent.

WHY CHOOSE POLYCARBONATE ROOF SHEETS

  • Lightweight yet impact-resistant — far stronger than glass of the same thickness.

  • Excellent light transmission with multiple tint options for comfort and privacy.

  • Suitable for a wide range of roof structures, from small porches to large canopies.

  • Resistant to weathering, UV and temperature changes.

  • Low maintenance, easy to clean, and built to last.

By combining quality materials from trusted suppliers like Clear Amber with careful installation, we ensure each polycarbonate roof we fit performs reliably for years to come.
